Finish with a full, vibrant storybook tree or one closer to Charlie Brown?s. Learn how techniques used in class can be applied to an array of future quilts.
Requirements:
Art Quilt Materials that you will need to bring:
24" X 32" backing fabric
23" X 32" batting (low loft like Hobbs 80/20 or Warm n Natural)
Background fabric - one light blue, one lavender, one light tan approximately 12" X 20" each
Foreground snow fabric - 2 to 3 white on white or light batiks scraps approximately 3" x 14"
Trees - assorted tans, grays, brown at least 26" long by any width
Assorted yarns, embroidery floss, cord, heavy threads in tree colors from your stash.
Free Motion Quilting Supplies:
Sewing Machine with open toed foot and free motion foot (stippling foot)
Double check that you pack your cord and foot pedal
Needles 80/12 (I like a new needle for every project)
Small spool of light gray or silver thin, strong thread (60 to 100 wt OR QS clear invisible)
Variety of threads - green, brown, tan, gray, blue

Rotary Cutter
Rotary Mat
Scissors
Lots of Straight Pins
24" x 6" Ruler or 20" x 20" Ruler (no need to buy ruler...bring something close)
Sharpie Marker
